This was a replacement for my glass Braun carafe. I bought it so I wouldn’t need to replace a fragile glass pot in case you drop it; Which I did. I was 100% correct on this count.You could throw it at the wall and it won’t break. You will want to throw it at the wall. The problem is that the pouring rim is such that it dribbles out the sides during the pour and you spill a lot of coffee making you want to throw it out or continue pouring coffee over the sink until you buy the correct manufactor’s replacement.It’s also not so universal as you have to force it under coffee ground basket for my Braun 4 cup model=Don’t get it unless you don’t mind pouring your coffee over the sink.

This carafe is a direct replacement for the stock glass one of our trusty 4-cup Mr. Coffee. Used on our sailboat, I no longer have any worries about accidental breakage. For those coffee makers that have the auto-stop feature, this carafe comes with two adapters to fit them.

This is stainless steel so needless to say, it’s durable. It doesn’t mean it is indestructable but you can stop worry about breaking it if you drop it on the floor or when you wash it with hard detergents. It comes with 2 height adjusters (for the Mr. Coffee spring-load flow stopper). My apology for not getting all the terminologies right. I bought this to replace my 4-cup carafe and the small adjuster works fine.
I have a nit-pick with the design. The spout is too shallow, consequently, the carafe doesn’t pour right. What happens is that when you pour the coffee, the shallow spout doesn’t give a fast enough flow so the coffee will get to the level of the lid. Subsequently, it will pour coffee on the side of the carafe.
Solutions: 1) pour slowly. I hold the lid up and pour the coffee a bit more slowly. 2) If you’re a handy person, get a little hammer and a small round rod, tap the spout to widen it and deepen it a bit.

After breaking 3 Mr. Coffee D4B 4 Cup Decanter I finally purchased this stainless carafe. The PROS & CONS are as follows:
PROS
1. Stainless steel, likely to be durable and probably unbreakable.
2. Comes with two adapters to adjust the height of the lid.
3. Reasonable cost and cheaper than most 4 cup glass decanters.
CONS
1. The spout is badly designed, is small with no downward slant, so the coffee dribbles when you pour. You have to pour slowly and keep a paper towel underneath.
2. Takes a little longer than glass carafe for coffee to get really hot/warm.
You’d think somebody in the company would pour coffee from the decanter before putting it up for sale. Guess not. The dribbling is really messy and inconvenient so I would recommend that until Medelco fixes this problem, you are better of with a glass decanter even though it is breakable. Mr. Coffee 4-Cup Glass Replacement Decanter – Wht has the same problem with the spout – it is small and the coffee dribbles. I like Mr. Coffee SPD4-1 4-Cup Replacement Decanter, White which also comes with a black lid version.

Do not buy this product for a Braun KF12!
This so-called unversal replacement carafe does NOT work with the Braun KF12. In order to make it fit under the basket, I had to remove the “pause-’n-serve” mechanism from the bottom of the basket. The carafe is too tall.
I bought this product because after many months of daily use, the clips that hold the cover on the OEM KF12 Braun glass carafe broke. This was the second time that happened, so I wanted a different carafe with a different cover arrangement. The Medelco carafe certainly does offer that. But it appears that Medelco never tried it with the KF12. If they had, they would have immediately realized it wasn’t compatible.
